The book develops a corpus-induced approach to lexical semantics. Within the scope of an examination of the core claims of previous collocation studies,it embeds the notion of the "combinatory profile" in a methodological and analytical framework, providing case studies of lexical-syntactical combinatorics for substantives that indicate action disposition in French and German.
